What we can safely assume is there will be plenty more brutal, bloody moments along the way.

Speaking of the show’s gorier moments, the scene which saw Sean set a man on fire before sending him plummeting to his death almost didn’t make the cut.

“Matt really fought for that scene because we were really worried what it would say about Sean so a couple of us got cold feet,” Gareth told

“Matt, to his credit, held firm, ‘This scene has to be how the show starts, this has to be the first scene’. There’s so much content out there right now so the first two or three minutes are vital.”

Yes! It was confirmed on 24th June 2020 that Sky had renewed Gangs of London for a second season, joining with US broadcaster AMC who will air both seasons in the States.

It’s no surprise after the show’s 7-day cumulative viewing figures of 2.23 million saw it become Sky Atlantic’s biggest ever original drama launch, bigger even than Chornobyl and Save Me.
