Johnny Depp’s Reputation was Damaged
Amber Heard said that the restraining order she got against Johnny Depp in 2016 hurt his reputation, not the opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post.
So, in the motion that Aquaman actor Amber Heard filed after he lost the libel case against The Rum Diary star Johnny Depp,
she said that Depp is not "entitled" to the $15 million in damages that the court gave him.
"Mr. Depp testified that the damage to his reputation was when Ms. Heard obtained the DVTRO on May 27, 2016 — for which he cannot be compensated," the motion, obtained by Radar, read.
The documents also say that during the bombshell trial, Depp admitted that the restraining order and the attention it brought from the media caused him to lose "everything."
"Mr. Depp admitted that these articles were not because of Ms. Heard's Op-Ed, but rather, 'all started with Mr. Heard going to — going directly to a court to get a TRO,'" Heard’s lawyer stated.
