Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect

The National Weather Service has given a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Williamson County until 6:45 p.m. In the interim, Austin had a Tornado Warning gave at around 5:40 p.m.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southwestern Williamson County in south central Texas... North central Hays County in south central Texas... 

At 504 PM CDT, a serious tempest was found 7 miles west of The Hills, or 10 miles north of Dripping Springs, moving upper east at 30 mph.

Once the storms pass, Taylor and Williamson County will remain under a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m. Monday, March 21.

Winds will be in the 20-25 mph range with blasts as high as 40 mph. Precipitation dependent upon one inch is conceivable. In any case, Monday's high will be 78 degrees with a low of 54 degrees.

Highs should be back into the lower 80s by Friday, March 25.
